Radeon Chill adapts the in-game frame rate to the action that is occurring onscreen. If the game action is mostly static or the game character is not moving, Radeon Chill quickly scales-down frame rates to save power. As soon as the game character resumes moving, Radeon Chill responds by increasing frame rates to preserve fluid gaming motion.

i like the concept but after installing the driver i have stuttering issues with CSGO where it will skip frames i have a 390 and playing at 250-300fps pls help

I always used MSI Afterburner to record short hobby videos of gameplay and thought it is good enough, man was I wrong. With the latest update of the Crimson software I got ReLive and tested it with Obduction.

There were like 3 fps drop compared to 10 with Afterburner and the free x264 encoder, you can say what quality you want, no extra encoder needed. With screen recording enabled you can even capture video of games like [Real]Myst and other really old titles.

I still need to do more testing though.

Software I used:

Bandicam (full licence), Mirillis Action! (full licence, originally used for Mantle capture in Dragon Age Inquisition), FRAPS (full licence), OBS and a few more.

All of those worked well with some games, but didn't with others. Afterburner always worked pretty well and so does ReLive now.

Bandicam does work well with Skyrim if you use enhancements like ENBs, does not if you try it with Crossfire. It is great for screen recording as it points out where you click. It is dodgy if an application needs to run as administrator for compatibility reasons, not relyable.

Mrillis Action does not work for most situations, but was the only one with Mantle support at the time. Bad if you use ENB or SweetFX/Reshade etc.

Afterburner will not catch Reshade/SweetFX and other PostProcessing effects, but works usually for all games as a last resort.

FRAPS creates massive files, I only used it briefly.
