I have a question about the video levels of graphics cards.

It is known that all PC-formats use full range RGB values (white on 0, black on 255) on DVI/HDMI.

What if a graphics card outputs a typical TV-format such as 1920x1080 or 1280x720 ? Televesion standards spec that limited range should be used (white on 16, black on 235), but what does a graphics card on these resolutions ?
If it is selectable, what is the default ?
