Synchronizing to house sync

Jump to solution

When syncing to house sync using the S400 card, what is the preferred way?

Set a timing server, with the timing signal source being the house sync, and set all other displays to be timing clients to the timing server

or

Have no timing server and set each client so have it's timing signal source to be the house sync?

You should always setup a TimingServer. When working with a HouseSynce, please setup a TimingServer using the HouseSync as source and configure the other displays as TimingClients.

What are the consequences of not doing so?

The consequence is that framelock will not work without TimingServer. To synchronize only the video signal you can just sync the Timing Clients to the HouseSync. if you intend to synchronize the SwapBuffer calls using framelock you will need to have a TimingServer running.
