Hello,
my video: HD5830 (catalyst 10.*, 11.*)
GL_ARB_occlusion_query does not work properly: I draws object in invisible area, query returned 84 visibled fragments
Example: http://www.codesampler.com/source/ogl_occlusion_query_arb.zip
Sphere is behind plane, program prints "sphere fragments = 84", must be 0. GeForce returned 0.
We tried to run your demo on HD5850 and Cat11.1/11.2/11.3/11/5. The results are
Plan Fragments = 24964
Sphere Fragments = 0
Is there anything I should take care? Or maybe it's a HD5830 only bug?
Thanx for reply.
My OS: WinXP64, I'll be try in XP32.
Tested also with HD4670 and HD5670 (cat 11.2) - has not bug.
Even I tested , It runs bug without any defect.
I formatted my second HDD and install WinXP64 + DX9 (Jun2010) + Cat.11.5a, bug still present
My hardware (info by Everest):
QuadCore Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450
MSI P45 Neo3 v1.0 (MS-7514)
4096 GB DDR2
ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series [1002-689E] [NoDB]
Tomorrow, I'll install Win7 x64, then test for bug...
New installed Win7 x64 Ultimate + Cat 11.5: bug.
Who can check with own HD5830?
It's verified a HD5830 bug. (It takes some time to buy such a card...). We will take a look at the bug. As a workaround, you could select other cards for replacement. Thanks.
Frali, thank you,
I can't select other card, and I am the developer of Berserker@Quake2 and Berserker@Quake3, so I will wait a new Catalyst with working ARB_occlusion_query 😉
It have been fixed, and will be ok in next version(maybe 8.88).
Thanx!
But, what is 8.88 version? Catalyst??
Oh, driver package version?!
8.88 is the internal driver version. This is what will go into Catalyst 11.8 (August).
occlusion_query works nice with Cat. 11.8 !
Thank you!!!
Tank you!
