scheduler interval

When programming the PIT (programmable interval timer) to 1000hz, many sites explain that the produced frequency will be 1.193.182 / 1193 (io ports 0x40-0x43), which is 1000.15256hz.

However, when playing videos about two hours and assuming 1000.15256 hz, there seems to be a noticable (1sec) time difference with audio and video playback.

So my question is that is the actual scheduler frequency 1000hz, 1000.15256hz or something else ?

Or is the time-difference source likely elsewhere ?
