Quality of Linux drivers

I've been developing my kernels on windows so far, but I am interested in

also supporting Linux. Can anyone comment on the quality of the LInux drivers?

Should I expect the same OpenCL perf on Linux as I am getting on Windows ?

I have the latest Catalyst driver.

Yeap. Performance is excellent and have had no stability issues so far. I'm using the 2.9-1 SDK (latest stable - ocl 1.2). One more reason I like linux better, is more powerful scripting tools, aka automation;-)

I use an 8-core AMD FX-8320 CPU and a Sapphire R9 290 radeon card.

In general i find Linux faster than windows, that's why in my dual boot system I work in Linux and play in Windows. I haven't tried opencl in windows. Drivers are bunch. Which drivers in particular are you looking for?

Thanks, nibal. So you are running opencl on LInux with AMD card, and you are happy with the performance and stability?
