I was wondering about designing processors.
Does AMD use software to design the mask layers of their chips ?? And would they release a version of the software.
I'm sure the companies that make processors use some kind of software to plot and test designs before they actually do any etching.
(I'm playing around with the concept of OS and Processor design and realized that its simple until you get to device interaction, )
( thats where most people attempting to write OS's fall flat on their face. The hardware companies won't release their hardwares opcodes. )
