Hi,
I am trying to get a FirePro W9000 running on OpenSuse 13.1 64 Bit (full system stats at the end of this post) for testing/evaluating OpenCL support/performance, however, the official FGLRX 13.152.4 driver (AMD's driver selection tool is suggesting this particular version) seems to not support OpenSuse 13.1. The driver installation routine fails (in runlevel 3 and no radeon driver is loaded). It seems that the kernel module cannot be compiled, as the compiler throws several errors. The error log is attached.
My suspicion that the driver does not support OpenSuse 13.1 (the driver has been released in November 2013, whereas OpenSuse 13.1 has been released in the beginning of 2014) seems to be verified in a comment [1] from Sebastian Siebert in one of his blog entries, who is involved big-time into AMD driver support for OpenSuse.
Are there currently any plans for an updated FirePro Linux 64 Bit driver? If yes, is there an estimate regarding its availability?
Thank you!
Best, Josef
