CL_MEM_USE_PERSISTENT_MEM_AMD zero copy support for Linux

Does AMD have plans to support "zero copy" using CL_MEM_USE_PERSISTENT_MEM_AMD for Linux?  The documentation says this is only supported on Windows.  If AMD has plans to support this, when can we expect it?

It is supported when VM is supported.  Currently, that means on HD79xx only.  You can tell if VM is supported by checking clinfo as the driver version will report VM.

From clinfo:

  Driver version:                                CAL 1.4.1695 (VM)

VM is virtual memory? and will it be supported on older cards and APU like 5xxx and 6xxx?

Yes, VM stands for Virtual Memory.  Current support in Linux is limited to HD79xx series.  I can't comment on support for other GPUs at this time.

Are there any plans to support zero-copy buffers on Linux for APU chipsets?  Or will this always be limited to Windows?
