APP SDK 2.9 documentation outdated and not available online

I have downloaded the latest SDK installer from http://developer.amd.com/tools-and-sdks/opencl-zone/opencl-tools-sdks/amd-accelerated-parallel-proce....  Following a complete installation, I found documentation under "C:\Program Files (x86)\AMD APP SDK\2.9\docs".  However, the included OpenCL programming guide is revision 2.4a dated December 2012.  Where is the latest version?

I tried using the link to additional documentation http://developer.amd.com/tools-and-sdks/opencl-zone/opencl-tools-sdks/amd-accelerated-parallel-proce... but all of the links on that page redirect one to http://developer.amd.com/tools-and-sdks/opencl-zone/opencl-tools-sdks/amd-accelerated-parallel-proce....  This means I cannot download updated documentation, or the promised presentations, tutorials or case studies.  This is extremely frustrating as I am setting up a presentation about OpenCL but now I cannot get up-to-date architectural details or a working link to direct audience members to AMD's documentation.

This is very unprofessional and makes marketing OpenCL and AMD hardware difficult, if not embarrassing.

William Shipman - the links you referenced have been fixed. Thanks for letting us know about the redirects. Apologies for the frustration! The direct link to the documentation is: http://developer.amd.com/tools-and-sdks/opencl-zone/opencl-tools-sdks/amd-accelerated-parallel-proce...

If you run into something like that again, just use the left navigation. The left navigation is the small square box as seen in this screen shot.

Thank you for fixing the links. Last night I did actually explore the

navigation bar that you show in the screenshot. The one place I wasn't

able to find was the latest OpenCL programming guide as I only found a link

back to the page with the broken links. At least that's now fixed, thank

you.

Now my second point: why is old documentation still included in the APP SDK

2.9 installer and in the unified installer?

Hi Chippies,

The OpenCL programming guide is updated independently of the (other) APP SDK documentation.

In fact, the programming guide will not be included in future APP SDK packages; it will be available directly on the AMD portal via soft-links. The idea is to make updates to the programming guide available to users immediately and not have the users wait for an APP SDK release.

To your question:

When APP SDK 2.9 was released, the Dec 2012 version was the latest available OpenCL programming guide version.

The following direct link was made available online as soon as the guide got updated:

http://developer.amd.com/wordpress/media/2013/07/AMD_Accelerated_Parallel_Processing_OpenCL_Programm...

Thanks for clearing up that and please go ahead with removing the documentation from the next APP SDK download (but please make testing the links to the documents on your website a higher priority ).
