Regarding Ryzen AI Software and the NPU on my CPU - that I can not use and/or see:
In accordance with your documentation (https://ryzenai.docs.amd.com/en/latest/inst.html), I have:
- Windows 11 Pro build 22631;
- Visual Studio 2022 (Desktop C++ installed, as well as literally every possible option);
- Cmake 4.0.0 + latest miniconda, added to system PATH;
- Installed both yours and the manufacturer's latest drivers.
Unfortunately, the NPU driver to be installed in the first step of your installation instructions, doesn't install. Running it (elevated) invariably throws the error:

To remedy this, I've tried:
- To contact Lenovo, as it's possible they disabled the NPU in the BIOS. They claim the CPU specs are wrong and there is no NPU. … Which at least means they probably haven't actively disabled it;
- Updated and reset my BIOS + toggled every possible toggle;
- Tried getting it to work in a virtual environment with a clean install;
- Factory reset my system with a clean install.
Despite this, no NPU/IPU/Neural/AI-anything can be found anywhere on my system.
Considering I'm installing an MCDM driver that fails because it can't find itself - I'm lost. I'm here asking to be shown the way.
--- [PS to community mods: I don't particularly want me to post anything here either. I was told to post on this forum and in this category specifically, by AMD Support, as the full extend of support offered. That still leaves me with a product that doesn't function as advertised. So:
If you're going to delete that (this) post, you are of course entirely free to do so. I do however kindly ask that you inform me of that choice, and if remotely possible at all, include the reason for doing so.] ---
