May be you have not set bios to use the GTX, you would need to ask on Nvidia forum if it is some other issue with their product.

Powercolor don't list a 16GB model ?, Use GPU-Z it has a 'Lookup' button which should show correct card model.

If you bought pre-owned it might have have been an ex miner (abused) card.

Forgot to mention that all R9 GPU cards are not supported by AMD with driver updates anymore.

So in the future if a game or program requires a newer driver than 06/21/2021 than you won't be able to run the game or program.

I have a Power Colour AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT Red Devil 16 Gb DDR6 which I purchased from Overclockers, the box and card both say 16Gb DDR6 on them and yet the AMD Radeon Software says that it's 8Gb? (I did dump the box last week, which makes the other issue a pain in the rear)

The card seems to have a terrible overheating issue with games that don't cap the FPS on them, nor give you an option in-game.
Through the AMD Radeon Software I was able to sor of cap it between 30 - 60 fps, by turning on chill; but for a graphics card costing a little over £600.00 round the start of the year I was expecting a lot better quality. It seems that some games by pass the chill settings and manual tuning of the fans making it Thermal Throttle with in 2 minuets.

Are there any uptodate drivers that can give the correct information on the card in the machiene?
And is there a way (without forking out more money I can't afford out) to solve the heating issue without taking the card appart? (Don't feel comfterable taking a expencive 6 month old card to bits, when I have no in-come)

No, but the Ryzen 4300GE is a OEM processor and MPK , I believe, means it comes in a MultiPack package.

So you are purchasing a OEM/Tray processor that has no AMD Warranty except through the Retailer/Vendor and doesn't come bundled with any CPU Cooler or in a AMD Retail Box.

Some Retailer/Vendors do sell OEM/Tray processors to the public like this foreign Retailer: https://greatecno.com/gb/processor/179087-amd-ryzen-3-4300ge-mpk-multipack-processor.html

The above Retailer gives a 2 year Warranty whereas AMD gives a 3 year Warranty on Official AMD Retail Box processors.

Also you need to check your Motherboard's CPU SUPPORT LIST and see if that APU is listed as being supported and compatible.

Use windows default drivers. I have same issue on a X570 MB and 3900X. AMD chipset drivers do not install. Comes up failed everytime. I think it was at lkeast 3 years ago since any AMD chipset drivers installed correctly. Never worked on Windows 10, and now dont install on Windows 11. Have to manually install each one through device manager. The AMD package fails with error always.

thanks for your suggestion, I have tested each memory stick individually and tested with memtestpro. pc will not post with any RAM in either of the two DIMM slots furthest from CPU.

To be fair, there is nothing wrong with Windows 10 either. It will be supported until year 2025. I really don't mind if my Windows 10 PC is 42 seconds slower at opening that huge Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. That gives me just enough time to grab a new cup of coffee. I know looks are important, and I also like pretty looking things, but when it really comes down to getting things done I don't mind a slightly more ugly but functional and stable operating system. With that said, I will not say I won't upgrade to Windows 11 ever, I just don't want to be among the first to do so.

Hi, the one that you have checked is one of the two atx rails, which I doubt to be of a good quality

I ve just ordered a new one from another company which I know will do a better job.

The atx adapter is to be connected to the motherboard while its 12 input cable has a female jack which allows a laptop power supply to be fitted in.

It works because you have the codecs for AVC and not HEVC, if you download the codecs from any trustworthy site it will start working, but some videos are just broken and won't work unless you use something like format factory to "cleanse/refresh" the video and re-add it. To make sure that you have the codecs installed, play the video using windows player or any player that doesn't have codecs built into in, like VLC.

If no, please limit them to -3 of Your refresh rate of the monitor.

Do You use Enchanced Sync?

If yes disable.

From Release Notes:

Enhanced Sync may cause a black screen to occur when enabled on some games and system configurations. Any users who may be experiencing issues with Enhanced Sync enabled should disable it as a temporary workaround.

You have in fact overclocked the CPU's Infinity Fabric, as fabric speed is locked to memory speed (unless decoupled in BIOS), and 3200 is the max officially supported memory speed. So there are no guarantees for anything above 3200 - even if the memory itself can do 3600, the fabric may not be stable so this will require more trial and error on your part. Sometimes you win the silicon lottery, sometimes you lose.

Additional things you can try to improve stability:

- Run memory speeds at 3200 or lower, just to see if fabric speeds are the issue
- Bump up Vsoc and/or Vdimm voltages slightly
- Run 2 sticks only (some DIMMs just don't do well in quads)

Did some more troubleshooting and made the following changes:

In BIOS, changed "Load Line Calibration" from Level 3 to Auto (In the past, I had experimented with ClockTuner for Ryzen to reduce temps and power.)
In Windows, I had disabled Specter protections - I turned these back on

I am monitoring the situation, but so far the system appears more stable.

Really good troubleshooting on your part.

That is an unusual type of computer case that uses an external PSU instead of an internal PSU. I see what you mean by a Laptop power supply.

The highest rated PSU I found at the manufacturer's website is 200 Watts : https://www.inter-tech.de/en/products/case/mini-itx-nuc/itx-a80s-black

But I have no idea how they connect to your computer case.

Force PCIE 3.0 in Bios, test without the riser and make sure that you are using correct drivers. Windows update secretly installs an unsupported driver in the background (21.20.16) that is not supported by the card and cause a lot of issues

Hi, would like to be much more verbatim.

The problem was not the psu itself.

The power rail of the psu is not having any kind of advanced acpi compliant features as it is made of an atx rail adapter which allows an external 120w notebook power supply to handle all the power draw.

The whole pc is built in a mini itx small factor case not having the space for standard itx form factor psu - the case is an inter-tech a80s.

Due to the plain power supply solution the last advanced acpi features (enabled by default) in windows 10 where giving me all those headaches; windows was always shutting down the pc after 10 secs just passing the login.

The REAL solution was to temporary swap the psu for an itx one, disable the win 10 advanced acpi features and settle back the atx adapter + the notebook power supply.

Now it works like a charm

P.S. I ve started arguing about that once I ve noticed that my Debian 11 installation was working without a single glitch.

That website doesn't show a A10 7850B Pro processor.

Also I inputted that you have 16GB of RAM Memory.

NOTE: If you can afford to upgrade your PSU to at least a 850 Watt Metal rated PSU would be more beneficial in case you decide to upgrade either the CPU or GPU in the future.

EDIT: since you purchased a USED GPU card run GPU-Z and make sure it isn't a counterfeit or modified GPU card. Click on the upper right box to find out the GPU card you have and whether the specs matches what TechPowerUp website shows.

I was runnning some tests for the last 2 days and i was able to pinpoint the issue to a faulty driver that Windows constantly forces into the system. This operation is really really sneaky, so i THOUGHT that i had a clean driver install but windows was secretly installing an unknown driver in the background (21.20.16) that is NOT supported by the card and doesn't even exists on AMD drivers download page.

This driver was causing a lot of performance issues and instabilities.

I had to manually block via Group Policy the driver installation by Windows Update and did a clean install of the 21.8.1 driver. No issues since then, rock solid system and great performance.

75 C is fine, 90 C is too close to tjmax (95 C) so probably is downclocking. What cooler do u have in? What case? Have u clean ur case and heatsink? Maybe u need to reapply thermal paste, i d put artic mx4 thermal paste if u need to repaste it doesn't dry up fast, is a good thermal paste and has good price performance

This issue could be PSU related, as you said already.
But it could also be Radeon Software's automatic overclocking causing thermal issues.

R5 5600x suddenly rebooting

My PC will suddenly reboot itself entirely randomly, I've been able to make this occur less often and more often by tweaking the RAM Timings however this is not a solution as it will not eliminate the rebooting entirely.

It turns out I have Intel Optimized memory however this has been stable for a few weeks now, Suddenly my CPU started acting up and I am unsure what is wrong with the PC. Temps are fine as the idle is around 30c and under load doesn't pass 55c.

Is my CPU Defective or could something else be defective? I'm able to run memtest86 just fine without any errors for hours.

My specs are;

Ryzen 5 5600x
16 GB (2x8) Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO @ 3200 Mhz (CMW16GX4M2C3200C16)
B550-f (Without Wi-Fi)
Coolermaster 750W MWE Gold Fully Modular v2
Geforce GTX 1080 FE

look up your rated boost clocks here and try them with 1100 mV (P3 boost state)

Make sure your hotspot temp stays below 90°C.

It will help immensely if you posted your GPU card Make & Model.

Most modern GPU cards have ZERO RPM Feature. This means that the fans won't turn on until the GPU card reaches a certain temperature ~55c to 60C

Make sure you have all the PSU PCIe Power cables connected to the GPU card's Power ports if applicable.

If the fans don't turn on while gaming or under stress then you have a problem. Under heavy loads the GPU temperature should go over 60C easily thus the fans should be running by that time.

Does the fans turn on for about a second or two when you first power up and then turn off?

Need to enter BIOS and see what is the maximum amount of System RAM you can assign to your APU Processor.

You can increase it to at least 2GB or maybe 3GBs depending how much BIOS will allow you to allot to the APU from System RAM.

Generally 512 MB of RAM is the minimum amount of RAM that can be assigned to a APU via BIOS.

Otherwise you will need to install a separate GPU Card to get more vRAM for your games.

EDIT: If you should be talking about a Laptop APU then if BIOS doesn't have a setting to increase or decrease the vRAM on the APU then you are stuck with whatever amount the APU has assigned.

Not all laptop allow you to increase or decrease the amount of vRAM assigned to your APU Integrated Graphics.

my graphics card fans will not run. its brand new; not even four months old. i have updated all the drivers (i believe), use msi afterburner, and the fans do not run. i do not know how to reach out for help from AMD techincal support, so i believe this would be the best thing for me to try.

I am surprised if the PSU was defective you were able to enter Safe Mode at all.

I didn't mention the PSU because first you didn't have a GPU Card installed and second you were able to enter Windows Safe Mode.

But glad to see you got your computer working with another PSU installed. You should mark your last reply as "Solution".

One thing I have learned is if you do a Clean Windows installation without installing any extra 3rd party drivers and the computer still crashes indicates hardware rather than software issue.

Try getting a AMD GPU that is still supported like any RX series GPUs (RX400/500/600/5000/6000 series).

All R7 GPU cards are not supported any more with AMD Driver updates.

But if the R7 is what you can afford it is fine for awhile until you have a program or App that requires the latest Graphics driver to be installed.

Maybe some other User here can recommend a R7 GPU card for you.

Depends on your Motherboard BIOS that determines how much of the APU Integrated Graphics uses System RAM Memory as vRAM.

Maybe with the newer AMD APUs it can allot more then 2GBs of System RAM Memory.

You need to check your BIOS Settings to see what is the maximum vRAM using System RAM Memory that can be assigned to your APU.

Since you don't have another GPU card or computer to install your GPU card and you tested it on another Monitor with the same results then I personally don't have any other suggestions except take your GPU card to a computer shop and have them install it on a motherboard to see if they get video output.

I did this when I thought my GPU card that wasn't giving out any Video output after I upgraded to a Ryzen motherboard. Took it to a computer shop and they installed it on a motherboard and immediately had video output. The computer shop was really nice and didn't charge me anything for just powering up the GPU card.

But your computer shop will probably want to charge you a fee so ask in advance how much before allowing them to check your GPU card.

NOTE: Sometimes if you physically remove and install the GPU Card on the motherboard it might start working normally again. If you remove the GPU card physically take a close look at the PCB board for any abnormal discoloration or damaged tracing or components.

Here are my results:

My PC will not run Windows 11 because of TPM 2.0. But I have a Core i7 8700 CPU and I can easily enable TPM in UEFI and I have already tested and installed Windows 11 directly on the hardware (not virtual machine) and made it run both with and without TPM enabled. I don't have the TPM chip but I can install one if I want to, but why buy that when I can enable virtual/emulated TPM within the CPU, this generation of Intel chips support that.

However, I would not install Windows 11 even if the "PC Health Check" app said "Ready to Go!" I hate the **bleep** thing already, I don't care if it's faster, etc. I just know it will be full of ads, trackers and so on. If you think Windows 10 already has all this crap, Windows 11 will be worse still, bugs included.

As the friendly FAQ section that the tool links to states:

"Can I continue to use windows 10?"
"Yes. You do not have to upgrade to Windows 11. We will continue to support Windows 10 until 14 October 2025."

I will stick to Windows 10 like I've never done before when Microsoft releases a new major version of Windows.

I should probably take action and free up some of that 96% used disk space before I even consider doing an upgrade. Some things are overlooked when people obsess about things like TPM. Interesting enough, this PC "health" (whatever) app didn't complain about that obvious pitfall! It was too concerned about the TPM support it never checked and never saw that I only have 17.9 GB of free disk space? Or maybe it plans on offloading its installation files onto my storage disk?... it would not surprise me, Microsoft has a good record in doing that sort of thing without user intervention and prompts, especially in polluting partitions at random with its Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable DLL files.

"Your files are right where you left them" they said last time when I upgraded a PC to Windows 10... only to find that a single file was missing because CHKDSK did some stupid auto thing and corrupted my password database with over 200 password. All else was OK. It's as if they knew what to go after. It took me a week or so to restore 95% of that data, and not thanks to Microsoft, but by painstakingly recovering unrecoverable and using older backup copies.

The things these companies are doing in this time, with all this automation, integration, appazation, containerization, might have been considered a data breach (hacking) in previous decades. I wish they would spend some R&D time on decrapifying these complex systems.

Windows 11?... yeah, yeah, whatever... next!

It's kinda broken, some videos will start working once you install the codecs and some won't, unless you use something like format factory to turn it from mp4 to mp4. Using the same format is fine, it just needs to go through the process of going in and out, but once that's done and you add the file to AMD software it works. But it's pretty disappointing, to be honest.

Well 8 times out 10 sudden black screen going to power save mode is related to CPU voltage, overdrive and overclock can a a problem on low/mid end motherboard... sometimes you could let your pc on stress test for hours but in light workload he crashs

Try yo bump a little more voltage on cpu or work with you mobo LLC.

Unfortunately I don't have another gpu as I can't afford one, all the psu connectors are properly put into the gpu and the motherboard and the cpu port for the psu, I can test the psu voltage output to see if that's the problem, other than that I don't know how to reflash the vbios if I can do that without a graphics card which I don't think I can.

Well...managed to install the drivers.

Had to install them with the administration rights (probably this was due to the safe mode).

But...do not know if I can be happy as the automatic windows shutdown was not caused by the drivers.

Now having all the apu and chipset drivers installed I am still facing the automatic shutdown 10 secs passed the login.

This does not happen in safe mode nor when I am using Linux (have created a dual boot yesterday).

Any help would be highly appreciated, thanks.

I am forced to work in 'safe mode with command prompt' otherwise if I let it boot up in normal mode I get everytime a machine shutdown after 10 secs passing the login.

In safe mode with command prompt there is no network connection.

I also managed the Windows update do not handle drivers with a specific policy however I always obtain the same error.

There is no way to have not only the drivers being installed but also to have win 10 up and running normally.

I even tried to use the last 21h1 win 10 image crossing fingers that it could make the job, instead with a big surprise, the installation can not complete showing up an infamous "unexpected error message box"

Now I do not know if it is a motherboard manufacturer issue the real thing is that debian 11 with amdgpu drivers not only installs but it works.

I just bought a Sapphire Radeon r9 270x Dual-X OC model of the card from a used market which requires 180 watts from a psu to run i guess or more than that? Can i work just fine with a 500/550 watt psu or does it require a more heavy psu than that? I have an AMD A10 pro 7850b as ik my cpu will surely bottleneck this card so the gpu usage will also be much lower so in that case will the gpu use low wattage than usual as the oc card should use?

Ryzen 7 5700g monitor One is connected to HD 6570 and one to Offboard.

If I don't install any drives, I can use both monitors, and the Ryzen 7 5700g is generic. If I install Ryzen 7 5700 unit, radeon HD 6570 does not give video.

Does anyone know what I can do? the B450M Steel Legend card only has one HDMI and one DisplayPort, so I still need to use the HD 6570

Gigabyte B550m Aurus Pro motherboard
Corsair RM650i PSU (a solid unit that's been going for years)
Corsair iCUE H115i XT PRO 280mm AiO

Ambient temperature is 26*C. Under 100% load with stock voltages this my CPU sustains 4.0Ghz at 71*C.
For the curious, the PSU is maintaining 91% efficiency and is running at 28*C.

As mentioned try the GPU card in another computer and see if you get Video output.

If the GPU card was working fine a few days ago and now has no video output and you haven't change anything then it seems like the GPU card became defective unless you PSU is not giving out proper Voltage outputs.

Make sure both GPU Power connectors are firmly connected and that each PSU GPU Power cable is separate from each other.

One User recently had a similar issue and after Re-flashing his vBIOS it started outputting video again. But this was the first time I heard of this type of fix.

Have you tried a different Monitor to see if you get video output?

NOTE: Flashing the BIOS would be the last step in troubleshooting. I would make sure the GPU card was not outputting video before doing that step.

Use DDU with the INTERNET DISCONNECTED so that Windows won't install a driver and delete AMD Installation folder C:\AMD.

Once the AMD Package finishes installing successfully you can again turn on the internet and again delete C:\AMD installation folder.

You can prevent Windows from installing Drivers via Windows Update.

If still are getting the similar errors please report back the issues and errors you are having.

Hi, the error is exactly the one reported by the amd kb205 faq page:

I am not using any discrete GPU. The PC is intended to use the Apu integrated one only.

Also post the exact errors you are getting when you either try to install or after installation of the AMD Driver package.

Do you have a separate GPU Card installed or are you just using the Integrated Graphics for Video Output?
