Thank you, the most important thing is to never stop trying. I would get up at 1, 2, 4AM in the morning trying to get a card and kept loosing out to the bots. Eventually you should be able to get one. For what its worth I would go here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GfyJ5XBchoQ and check for the rumored drop date of amd's site, then try and refresh before the suspected drop but don't refresh like a madman or AMD's site will temporary block your computer from accessing it, just once maybe every 10-15 seconds and it wont block your browser and hopefully you can add to cart. I checked out with paypal so I think that is much quicker then manually typing in your credit card info unless you have it auto complete. Also I really wanted the 6800xt or 6900xt but they are in higher demand so going with the 6800 or 6700xt you might have better luck, in my case the 6700xt is a huge step up from a GTX1080 in terms of benchmarks and features and I will report back here on how it does once i get it.

Update: it seems they have improved the website a bit.
There is now captcha when adding to cart. Plus, I was finally able to make add to cart buttons work by deleting all cookies and then accepting all cookies, instead of only essential cookies.
Happy to report I finally managed to grab one today. Stock was up for 2+ minutes.

Well I got lucky so far scored the 6700XT today, hopefully get a shipping notification soon, I know its the lowest card they sell but man it is a huge upgrade from a GTX 1080 really happy if it does all work out and my order isn't cancelled.

Just BestBuy on-line for the 27th. You'll want to ne signed in to a BestBuy account and use PayPal for fast checkout. Do not refresh, I recommend having the cards you are interested in added to your cart page as saved for later (or something like that) so you can just watch for the greyed out add to cart button to change to yellow, then click on it just once. Then you have to wait for the button to change again so you can add to cart or buy now, this is hoe BestBuy has thwarted the bots. If buy now is an option use it because if anyone else is trying to buy the same card from the same store whoever checks out first wins. They release stock slowly so if you don't get it on the first try keep trying until it is obvious stock is all gone. For info on drop dates go to fixitfxitfixit's live stock checker on YouTube and type "!bestbuy" (no quotes) in the live chat and a bot will answer with info.

As for Microcenter the best way is to be in line as early as possible before they open, even at 4am people will be there waiting. I've been told my local store in Cambridge, MA best days at a chance there for stock is Tuesdays and Thursdays, but every location is different. If you do try ask an employee in the BYOPC department if a shipment is expected that day and which days of the week is best for stock.

There is a youtube stream that shows the drops including amd 24/7 Live stock alert for RTX 3060/TI/3070/3080/3090 6700/6800/XT/6900XT with sound for USA stores - YouTube

however I just happening to be browsing their site when the 6700 XT showed up in stock and was able to place my order today. the stream has a 30 second delay so your best bet is to be browsing amd and keep refreshing (not too much so you don't get banned) and grab the drop that way.

Hi , I don't have 3960X or 7700K, but I tried your code on AMD 3995WX and Intel dual 8280 (not exactly the same workload since I don't have the values in finds[i, j]). Compare 48 threads performance with single thread performance, I saw about 2X slowdown on AMD 3990X and 3X slowdown on Intel dual 8280.

I think the slowdown is reasonable, given "if (finds[i, j])" doesn't have much work besides fetching finds[i, j]. I understand the if statement is true for only 1% of the iterations, but it can still become a thread synchronization workload if the other 99% of the iterations have minimal work to do.

I'd suggest using the OpenMP clause num_threads() to run this loop with lower number of threads, and that may help with the performance.

My EK block arrived for my RTX 3090 FE. Now both the CPU and GPU are back in the loop.

GPU is stable at 114% power, +150 core clock and +1000 on the VRAM. It doesn't get above the low 40C with the block installed. It does seem like I am power limited now, as raising the core clock and RAM further doesn't make the card unstable, but doesn't add any performance either. The FE is limited to 114% on the power slider, so I'd probably need a different UEFI to go further.

This test was done just increasing the power slider to max, nothing else.

Next possible stock available from BestBuy on-line is 4/27 10am-2pm EST. In store at Microcenter be in line before opening the earlier the better, like 4am.

haha, I just received my 3900x with new Auros x570 MB. I was surprised as it was one attempt at rebuild and it all just worked first time. I agree, it's a monster. But it'll not be complete until I can snag a graphics card at a decent price. To hell with Scalpers. They need to be starved!

Amen to that! The brick n Mortars are stuck having to sell ancient GPUs, which no one's obviously going to touch unless they're desperate due to their GPU dying from age or else. I can afford many times to buy a card from a scalper but I would never give those worthless. lazy rats the satisfaction. Raising the price to ungodly amounts for pure greed's sake and it feels like someone trying to insult my intelligence. I don't take kindly to those kind of animals. There is no use for them. period.

The chances are good as nill as long as AMD allows scalpers to scoop up the retail. If you wanted a chance to buy, you would have to either pay scalpers high prices or find one of those bots that can buy up the whole supply-which will cost you an arm and leg. AMD doesn't give a **bleep** about us. They only care about how much of a kick back they can get from scalpers.

It is important to know how the fix for Unreal Tournament 3 is coming along.

I am very glad with the improving Radeon Interface, but I am still experiencing exactly the same performance issues in Unreal Tournament 3 since just after 16.6.2 and even still with the latest 21.4.1 Radeon Driver which I installed today. Furthermore, I am still experiencing bad performance issues with Wolfenstein The New Order and The Old Blood only with Radeon cards.

I ordered Ryzen right from lauchday and got a 1700 with a Asrock X370 Killer SLI/AC, its been quite a Journey as I had lots of trouble getting ram to get past 2133 and stable at 3000mhz speeds, in 2018 I upgraded to a 2700x was more stable with the ram but still had a few issues. Now with the latest bios and Running a 3900x, I went and bought G.Skill 3200 ram guessing it wouldn't run at those speeds but nope runs perfect right out of the box no crashes no errors, Love this 3900x so much faster then the 2700x.

Please AMD just send me a link so I can buy a 6800xt to get that team green Nvidia card out of my system. Long live AMD!

TLDR bought a 3900x for old x370 board would love to get a radeon card to go with it!

I updated Blender from 2.8 something to 2.92, and also updated ProRender to 3.1.0 (the version of ProRender I had before was an exe, so it must've been pre 2.4.11) . It was only after deleting all the old files I realised ProRender has dropped support for my card...

For hours I've been trying different version combinations of Blender and ProRender, using the update notes as a guide of which versions to pair, but I can't seem to get anything more than crashes or black screens in the render.

I also updated my graphics driver so I don't know if that's part of the problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is a restore point before I updated, if it doesn't work at least it gives me exact version numbers.

We are considering porting our code base to the Vulkan API. our product relies heavily on DirecGMA API extensions which seems to date to around 5 years ago.

Is it possible to use this capability in Vulkan as well? Has the API's been updated to include newer APIs?

I'm sorry, I didn't wrote the correct command I'm using. In deed, I run each time the "amdgpu-pro-install" command. I read in the manual this is the way to install opencl. I also add the "headless" option in order to try to make the command run. I'll make a correction on the main message.

Each time I get an error regarding "amdgpu-dkms" and/or "amdgpu-dkms-firmware" or any other error making the install crashing.

I have to mention that the user I use to try to install opencl is member of "video" and "render" groups.

I try to install opencl this way :
- download the amdgpu-pro install
- run the command "./amdgpu --install --opencl=legacy,pal" or "./amdgpu --install --opencl=legacy,rocr" for newer version.

As mentioned in the Amdgpu-pro installation guide, there are two major stack variants available for installation - "All-Open Stack" and "Pro Stack". OpenCL comes with the "pro stack". So please try to install the pro stack by using command:

"amdgpu-pro-install" or "amdgpu-install --pro".

I have similar issue with HP 805 G6 PC, where I enabled DASH by using the Realtek RealManage utility accessed through BIOS (so no applications/drivers/xlm-files used, pure BIOS stuff). As per the new legal requirements, RealManage asked to give new user name and password during the setup. I gave the usual ones I use with Intel vPro/AMT setups, and it included 18 character password.

After I had gone through the setup, including setting static ip etc. I tried to access DASH from another machine. AMD Management Console sees the device as DASH capable and allows me to add it to the Computer Groups. However any function I try it will fail to authentication error. If I try to access the RealManage utility through BIOS, same issue: user name/password not valid.

I have managed to climb to 3rd line at HP support, but they do not seem to grasp the issue, as they want me to try different drivers etc, which I have to no avail. Also sent email to dashsupport@amd.com, with no reply.

With Intel vPro/AMT I can reset forgotten/wrong AMT password from BIOS, if I have access to it. However with DASH it seems there is no way to do full reset, that will wipe DASH user/password along other DASH settings.

If mirek186 sees this update, could You comment if You managed to get the issue solved/locked devices sorted? And where did You get the info regarding the 14 character password limit issue with Realtek RealManage? This would hopefully help with HP:s support...

I'm tryning to install opencl on linux. I tried debian 11 and ubuntu 20.04.02

I try to install opencl this way :
- download the amdgpu-pro install
- run the command "./amdgpu-pro --install --opencl=legacy,pal" or "./amdgpu-pro --install --opencl=legacy,rocr" for newer version.

I tried several amdgpu-pro versions, but none of them work :
- amdgpu-pro-17.40-492261
- amdgpu-pro-19.50-967956-ubuntu-18.04
- amdgpu-pro-20.20-1089974-ubuntu-20.04
- amdgpu-pro-20.45-1164792-ubuntu-20.04

Trying to find DASH support for password issue

I've tried to find a solution to an issue similat to AMD Dash won't listen on port. - AMD Community. I've got HP device and gone up to 3rd line support with them without solution or confirmation, if the password length can cause problems.

I think I might have found a so-called hack to get the 'Indirect_Background' one to work.

Start with initial default cube. Mainly so that Blender will recover faster.
Add a HDRI (don't really know if you have to).
Switch from 'Solid' view to 'Mat Preview' then switch to 'Render' view (read final paragraph).
Hit F10 while still in 'Viewport' (may not have to do this).
Go to Render tab and watch the magic happen (hopefully).

I don't think I've forgotten anything. You can then open another file and everything should still work.

I did forget something. In step #3 I think it does start to hang, but I immediately switched back to 'Mat View' and waited for it to clear its self up. I then switched back to 'Render' view. And sorry for not having it more well defined, it just happened out of the blue and I just had to share.

Given the level of discord, you'd think so kind of register-to-buy option would have been implemented months ago. Nvidia has many more options in terms of models. Despite the difficulty in getting any card, the perception is that it doesn't look that bad on their side. AMD, with basically three variants...none of which seem to ever show up for purchase, should have implemented this a long while ago.

Hello Guys,

I need a recommendation regarding which AMD motherboard to buy with very specific requirements.

The information online is not always the most reliable, so I believe here would be the best place to ask.

I would require a montheboard that can support:
1) DDR4 T-Topology (thats the problematic part)
2) AMD Ryzen 3000 Series
3) 3 GPU Slots

Kindly advice which motherboard can support the above requirements (preferably ASUS or MSI).

I still distraught about wasting my work day time trying to buy a GPU on AMD direct this past Thursday only for there to be no drop, and then randomly move it Friday afternoon.

So much inconsistency with their drops that only helps Shoe Bots that have apps that actively scrape their Buy-Direct for when that 'add-cart" change comes available.

Regular people don't have that time to invest on doing.

You boys are in the wrong country.

Nobody having to camp out here for days to TRY getting a card.

Sadly...the only folks who seem to be able to just walk right in and purchase cards without playing 'the game' are in the countries with no tariffs or taxes which affect costs to manufacturers.

For the cost some of the scalpers are demanding, you could hop on a flight, fly to this destination and purchase the card. Too **bleep** funny.

Sadly AMD didn't officially drop any GPUs this week anyways.

There's no clear advantage other than you have to monitor their Buy-Direct page on their website on Thursday mid-day & HOPE that they actually do a drop. I wasted a chunk of my work-day time trying to buy one this past Thursday and they never dropped.

Sadly, it is nearly impossible to buy a card directly from AMD. The only option you have at this point is to buy from a scalper. Best case, you find a gamer that is willing to pass on a card for a reasonable price.

There is a chance that the market will start to cool off a little bit near July. Ethereum, the most prevalent currency mined by GPU's, will undergo some changes in July. It MAY result in a drop in profit for the miners. At that point, some miners will exit the business and sell their GPU rigs. The demand for GPU's could fall a little bit and the market will have more used GPU's to choose from.

AMD has chosen to do very little to support us through their storefront. Keeping their prices low is honorable and I think we should really appreciate that. However, there isn't any way for us to compete against bots. Until there is a system in place to level the playing field, we will keep losing out. Let's hope they add more measures to defeat bots and create an equitable purchasing process.

AMD changes the drop day and time, so only scalpers and other bot users are able to buy cards with reasonable money and make money selling them. Legit gamers have about ZERO change getting a card. It's so utterly brilliant.

Question about EPYC 7H12 frequency

I have a DELL R7525 Rack Server, installed 2 EPYC 7H12 CPU.

I build hpl-2.3 with Intel MKL and icc with linux centos 7.9 x64.

I run linpack test got about 3886.6 Gflops result.(efficiency 72.99%)

When xhpl run on the server, I use turbostat to monitor the CPU, see it run about 23xx MHz.

I check the CPU's spec that 7H12 CPU reference frequency is 2600MHz.

Why the cpus not running @2.6GHz or turbo to 3.2GHz？

By the way, I change the BIOS setting to disable HT, using Performace setting and max fan cooling.

I also have a test to run lammps， so when lammps running, the total cpu cores run @31xxMHz
