When will OpenCL be part of AMD's SDK?  I hope that's in progress NOW?  Hopefully it will allow more optimal code than what's possible with Brook+?

Ryta is correct. The goal as stated in december is first half 2009. We've already publicly demo'd a working version which a video was posted last week. Search youtube for amd opencl.

Is OpenCL going to be build on top of CAL?

Will CAL be discard in future?

If I recall, I heard that:

1) AMD's OpenCL will be built with CAL backend. I can't remember where I heard/read this though.

2) Supposedly, they are going to still support Brook+, although I can't really see why.
