I have filed bug #514061 with Debian regarding atieventd. It is online at http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=514061. I thought it would be relevant to cross-post the topic here.
It seems that the atieventsd daemon fails to start on boot when selinux is enabled. I have been having some difficulty debugging the problem. If anyone has experience running the fglrx drivers on selinux please post if you have needed to take any action such as a custom policy file.
