Enterprise-20.Q3 no longer recognise 10bpc on BenQSW321C with AMD Radeon Pro WX 3100

After clean install of the Win10-Radeon-Pro-Software-Enterprise-20.Q3, the primary monitor no longer allows to switch to 10bpc Colour depth. (Selecting 10bps just flicks and reverts back to 8bpc. It was working fine using 19.Q3 and 19.Q4 software versions.

Tried switching on/off various settings, only works if I revert to 19.Q4.

There have been other Users here in the past having 10 Bit color issues with BenQ monitors and AMD Drivers.

1-RADEON PRO WX 7100 at 10bpc & BENQ SW271

2-12bit issue for RGB444 4K 60hz (RX480, BenQ EW3270u, Windows 10)

Possibly AMD Forum expert on Professional GPU Cards might be able to help fsadough‌.

We have an existing ticket for that. The issue is being investigated

The latest bloated 21.Q2.1 drivers and software keeps disappointing. Not only it does not fix 10bpc issues, it manages to crash when in suspension mode. Year after year, AMD guys really don't know what the heck they are doing, that's for sure. I think it is time to switch to Nvidia.

I have no BenQ SW321C, but I tried a WX3100 using 21.Q2.1 and get 10bpc. If you have the EDID from BenQ SW321C, I can test it at my end.

I use these - https://www.benq.com/en-us/business/support/products/monitor/sw321c/download.html. The problem is that it is inconsistent - 10bpc setting sometimes works, and sometimes switches back to 8 bpc for no apparent reason. 19.Q4 worked fine, but then anything after that is just a luck game.

This could be related to your monitor or cable. Please export the EDID and attach it to your reply.

  1. Open Radeon Pro Settings
  2. Go to Settings => Display tab
  3. All the way at the bottom under additional Settings click on "Open Radeon Pro Settings"
  4. Click on "Accept" on next windows pop-ip
  5. Click on the "+" beside WX3100
  6. Find the active connection with the name of your monitor (BenQ SW321C)
  7. Click on the vertical 3-dots right beside it and select "Export EDID"
  8. Name the file and save it, like "sw321c.bin"
