Can RX 570 work on a legacy Bios based motherboard?

So the title was self-explanatory but still here is the question that I have,

Can RX 570 work on a legacy Bios based motherboard for example the motherboard from MSI that I have is very old and I wanted to upgrade GPU so can anyone please tell me if RX 570 can work on legacy BIOS or more specifically on MSI H55M-E21 ?

Thanks in advance.

its a PCIe 2.0 board - but a RX570 should work
but watch ebay etc for cheap RX580 - currently they go for about 100€

PC: R7 2700X @PBO + RX 580 4G (1500MHz/2000MHz CL16) + 32G DDR4-3200CL14 + 144hz 1ms FS P + 75hz 1ms FS
Laptop: R5 2500U @30W + RX 560X (1400MHz/1500MHz) + 16G DDR4-2400CL16 + 120Hz 3ms FS

Can you be sure that it will work on a non UEFI motherboard?

i dont know where the problem would be - PCIe 2.0 is a standard and the RX570 obeys those

Thanks but I don't have enough budget for RX 580 plus ebay doesn't work as it should be in India.

I have purchased an Asus Rog Strix RX 570 let's hope it will work on this motherboard, it would take 2 to 3 days to get the shipment.

do a bios-update

is your psu stong enough?

is your screen connected to MoBo or GPU?

PC: R7 2700X @PBO + RX 580 4G (1500MHz/2000MHz CL16) + 32G DDR4-3200CL14 + 144hz 1ms FS P + 75hz 1ms FS

i have intel DP67BG with latest bios.

Now intel does not make motherboards.

i have corsair CX500 PSU.

Yes.i get output till BIOS, but my system gets stuck at POST.i tried force booting, CMOS clear ,PSU change,BIOS recovery

etc etc.....nothing works

I think it is compatibility issue.

I am upgrading the entire system. So, i will have to wait for other components to arrive.

It can work! Just bought a Sapphire Pulse RX580 4GB to support my new Lenovo L27Q-10 monitor in native resolution of 2560x1440 under Arch Linux. The old Gainward Geforce GT9500 had to be forced into this mode using a modeline on the Xorg config and it showed disturbing lines in black areas and lost picture switching to the console due to HDMI-DRM errors. An old LGA1156 Asrock mainboard H55DE3 is used running a Core i5 670. The power supply is an Enermax Pro 82+ 425W.

Had some doubt as Sapphire lists the card as UEFI only and not compatible with Legacy BIOS. Before I bought the card, i searched for a BIOS image and found it here: VGA Bios Collection: Sapphire RX 580 8 GB | TechPowerUp

Using a HEX-Editor, I found it to be a hybrid BIOS which was promising.

Thee card arrived today and it works without any trouble. I can enter the BIOS Setup and see everything, Linux boots to the console with full resolution and the Xorg Desktop under  XFCE4 is also running fine using the AMDGPU driver. 3D applications also work fine.
