Why I am seeing Relive activity in the Task Manager when Relive is not and has never been installed (see attached screenshot)?
Win 10 pro x64 1803
RX 460, with 18.10.1
It seems an error during the drivers installation process
I recommend you read this Troubleshooting Common AMD Graphics Driver Installation Problems
DISM and SFC tools check and repair the Windows Files System essential to the correct behavior of installation and removal AMD Drivers, after this reinstall AMD drivers through the option Clean Install/Uninstall option and see what's happen.
I ran DISM and SFC Scannow but no problems found. Uninstalled 18.10.1 with DDU and installed 18.11.2 with internet disconnected. The Relive entries are still appearing in Task Manager! If I close those 2 processes in Task Manager there seems to be no detrimental problems, everything is running good but they always reappear after a re-boot. I just checked my other PC also Win 10 1803 but with an RX-570 and 18.10.1 and see exactly the same Relive processes in the Task Manager (also always skipped the Relive install) so it does not appear to be an isolated issue.
Anyone else seeing this??????
I can see it on Task Manager with Relive installed and disabled
Report it to AMD
Not a bug, if you want an official explanation, use https://support.amd.com/en-us/contact/email-form
What's with the official explanation? If you know it is not a bug why not share what you know of this?
Before posting this I did do a search in the forum but without a hit. Subsequently I googled it and got a hit on a previous post in this forum here. It includes a method of getting rid of the processes which I have applied and it works (at least until I install a new driver), however no trace of an "official explanation". goodplay what gives?
All I recall is, from a couple of web posts I once ran across, was that they are tied in to/with radeon settings that relive will access/utilize when it is activated(installed).
Seemed plausible to me, seeing as relive is not a stand alone app, that components it will interact with are already installed, usable.
That's my take on it, if you disagree/have further questions, you've got the email link.
