I am looking to switch to Ryzen is my RAM compatible?

I have 2 sticks of DDR4 8gb CL17 single rank memory (2400mhz), will it work with any Ryzen 5 chips?

Check the motherboard manufacturer's webpage for the motherboard you are wanting to buy, it will tell you if it is compatible. However, with the way Ryzen works, you are losing 5% or more performance by not using DDR4-3200 or faster.

The RAM you have now will work fine. No need to sweat over a minute different in speed.

The cost of DDR4-3200 is pretty steep vs the performance gains

Really? It's a simple process of looking at the memory compatibility lists for a motherboard. The ASUS Crosshair VII Hero, for example, lists 5 models of DDR4-2400 made by Crucial.
