New Wifi card for laptop

I bought a laptop for school for college. my college has 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi. my current wifi card can only pick up 2.4GHz. I want to buy a wifi card for 5 GHz. I need help to find the right wifi card.  my CPU is  AMD A12-9720P RADEON R7

There won't be any benefit for 5ghz. Aside from the shorter range due to higher interference penalty from obstructions, the range is also shorter due to the higher frequency, plus you are quite unlikely to exceed the bandwidth provided by a congested public signal.

there are a lot more channels at 5Ghz compared to 2.4, almost 8x more
