  • When I play NinoKuni II, periodically there is a lag spike that lasts about a minute, during which time in Task Manager > Performance,  GPU 0 goes down to ~20% from the near 100% when it's running smoothly (see attached screenshot). When it's running smoothly both GPUs are fully used. So, I am wondering why the Radeon software is lowering GPU 0 usage when it is required for the game to run smoothly. Is this a software error?

    • Anti-aliasing override, 2x
    • Multisampling antialiasing
    • Morphological filtering Off
    • Anisotropic filtering override, 2x
    • Texture Filtering: Performance
    • Surface Format Optimization On
    • Wait for Vertical Refresh: Always On
    • OpenGL Triple Buffering: On
    • Shader Cache: On
    • Tessellation Mode Override: Maximum Tessellation OFF
    • AMD Crossfire Mode: AFR Compatible
    • Frame Pacing On
    • AMD FreeSync On
• Game: NinoKuni II through Steam
• If possible, include a screenshot or video link of the issue

Bump, and: I am now also getting lag spikes of a similar duration during other games, even if Crossfire Mode is off. I think this happened after I set the GPU settings to High Quality in Windows, so I am going to go look and see if I can change it back to fix it. I used not to have lag spikes in some games that I now have lag spikes on on the same computer, and it's not a network thing. I also updated the R7 driver through Windows just now--from May 2017 to October 2017 version (most recent version), so we'll see if that fixes it. One thing at a time, though. I'll keep results posted.
