Before when i used to use Virtual Super Resolution in older drivers i could get a resolution of 2048 * 1536 however now that i go to Personalize and then Screen resolution i can go up to 3200*1800 but not 2048 * 1536 specifically.It just seems to skip it.How can i get it back?

what kind of monitor you using might be a cross over bug

it's a normal 22 inch lg 1920*1080 native resolution monitor

Install a previous AMD Driver. Some Users are having problems with Custom Resolutions missing or no being shown in the latest AMD drivers.

If the previous AMD driver is working with the correct Resolution available than it is a bug in the current AMD drivers.

I would love too but Fortnite has white screen issues on the previous versions

Here is from AMD concerning VSR: Virtual Super Resolution | AMD :

According to the above chart from AMD concerning VSR. If your Monitor is running at 1920 x 1200 @ 60 Hz then you should have available 2048 X 1536 VSR.

That is truly strange, 2048*1536 worked fine two-three driver versions ago on my 1920x1080 60Hz but now that image u linked says they only supports that on 1920x1200.Could an amd support person clarify?

I was trying to locate to see what your GPU card you have installed and found another current thread where you mentioned that it is a R9 290x.

The AMD VSR Chart doesn't indicate the R9 2xx series card as being compatible with VSR. Like I mentioned, The AMD VSR Chart is probably outdated and maybe the R9 2xx series cards are now included since it was working for you.

Oh thank for doing that but 290X support VSR for sure, been using now and have been for quite a while just that one now one of the resolution is missing for some reason

Do you have GPS scaling enabled?

And yes, the 290x is supported (my 290x and 295x2) and these resolutions have always been available to me on a 1920x1080 monitor.

I noticed that you also don't have the resolution that the OPS is asking about - 2048 x 1536 or is it between 1920 and 2560?

The resolution he is looking for is available on a 1920x1200 (16x10) monitor...I know as I just traded one. It has never had that resolution on a 1920x1080 (16x9) monitor.

So after several clean installs of drivers from 18.5.2 till 18.2.3 none had worked.From 18.2.3 till 18.4.1 radeon settings wouldn't turn on and after 18.4.1 the infamous "Driver version and Setting version do not match" error appears.

After a whole day of these shenanigans, i reached till 18.2.1 which works perfectly(aside from the fact i got the fog error which wasnt solved till 18.2.3 for fortnite)

Most importantly this driver give me the option to have 2048 x 1536 when VSR is turned on.Meaning it is definitely an issue with the later drivers.I wonder if this driver being WHQL(probably not) has anything to do with it.

Anyhow now im stuck on either having 2048 x 1536 resolution on 18.2.1 and having fortnite give me the white screen OR going to the latest version 18.5.2 which deprives me of having 2048 x 1536 resolution with VSR but fixes the fog/lightning issue with fornite

Only the highlighted resolutions use VSR. You can use that resolution...on your desktop? Have you ever seen that resolution offered in a game? Which is what VSR was designed for.

AMD Virtual Super Resolution allows games to render at higher resolutions (above the native resolution of the display, up to 4K) and then rescales them down to a lower native display resolution.

Yes i know that but what i am saying is VSR isn't giving the option to render games at 2048 * 1536 in the newer driver and only in older drivers

Maybe being able to access 2048x1536 was the bug (and no one noticed till 18.4.1), even the old vsr spec shows it's for 1920x1200 native.

What Is Virtual Super Resolution and How Does It Work?​

I installed some older drivers and tried it(worked on TTT, but not some others), did not like it(horiz.stretch, circles > oval, etc...), didn't bother trying to scale it.

Dont think so its a bug been using it for 7-8 months and it has worked perfectly.
