Until today I still see:

• Functional update for Windows 10, Version 1709 – Error code 0x80070005

thanks for your reply. Unfortunately your answer does not help because I've tried already all your recommend links. The yes-or-no-question is simple: Is there someone who was able to do the update 1709 for this setup:

on a MSI A68HM Grenade motherboard

• Version E7891AMS V1.3

Yes or No.

My assumption is that it is not possible at all. A confirmation of this would also be helpful.

Best place to ask is MSI Support Contact Us | MSI Global . Open a ticket and find out if your Motherboard is compatible with later Windows versions.

In my personal opinion, If it updated to version 1607 it should be able to update to version 1709 and 1803.

Your Motherboard is not that old. It should have no problems updating to the latest Windows versions.

Try re-installing version 1607 by using an .ISO file. This is called a ingrade Windows Repair. Follow the instructions from this website on how to do it .How To Reinstall Windows 10

Once you successfully reinstalled version 1607 try to upgrade to version 1709 or version 1803.
