17.12.1 and 17.12.2 play star wars battlefront 2 fps is very low, cpu will load 100%. use 17.11.4 has no problem
GPU is VEGA 56
I have lag on r9 fury and my son has lag on r9 290 on 17.12.2 have not try any other drivers
I have CPU spikes on 17.12.x too! In another games though. (I don't play Star Wars BF2)And especially when loading level and after that. It results in lower FPS and stutters.
No issues with 17.11.x and older.
I run Windows 10 64bitMy GPU is R9 280X
I also having the same issue but with Battlefield 1 high CPU usage.
There is some issue with Shader Cache under 17.12.1 and 17.12.2. Battlefront II is not creating file with cached shaders, they are located under C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\AMD\DxCache. It's causing the game to recompile shaders every time, it takes 100% CPU usage and the game stutters. I fixed it by simply enabling Star Wars Battlefront II profile in Radeon Settings (make sure that Shader Cache is set to AMD Optimized). Now after running the game file is created in the folder listed above (it's called 9c6751e86c5a4c3285795ba90fdb8ee3554615aba74be719.bin). Let the game run for some time in main menu and on beginning of matches so the shaders get compiled and stored in this file (now it needs to be done only once).
That would make sense! Because my CPU goes high mainly only when loading some map in any video game, then the CPU goes to normal after a few seconds.
I hope AMD already knows about this.
