We have an embedded system running a real-time os that has an ancient ATI M54/RV515 graphics chip. The driver was developed by a now defunct company and we have obtained the source. We want to update the driver to provide GPU statistics such as %busy, %memory used, clock speed, etc. We've got the chip documentation that shows all the registers and have identified several status registers that appear to show busy bits, but we are unsure how to calculate % GPU utilization from them. Some help from a driver or utility developer would be appreciated.
