Just installed the 15.7.1 package (did a clean install, didn't install overtop of the old version)
There is no VSR option in the CCC

Your graphics card is already running at it's maximum supported resolution.
If you were to connect to a 19x10 monitor, you would see the VSR option which would allow you to scale to 25x14
That seems a little counter intuitive if the whole point is to upscale the image on the card and downscale it to the monitor resolution?
This card supports 4096x2160 resolution, isn't VSR supposed to make the card process at that resolution and then downscale to the monitor's 2560x1440 resolution?
OK thanks for the help...
Stupid AMD... I spent an hour alone trying to find out where the damn checkmark button for VSR is even supposed to appear in the CCC.
VSR webpage is nothing but marketing drivel, no info in the CCC search, google it and you only find links to hack enable it for older CCC versions.
Wait... I just checked the VSR site again
http://www.amd.com/en-us/innovations/software-technologies/technologies-gaming/vsr
It shows that 2560x1440 should allow VSR of 3200 X 1800
Please refer to the "Important Information" section of this document : What Is Virtual Super Resolution and How Does It Work?
Thanks for that,
Still doesn't really explain why I have no VSR option though
Looking at that link for requirements
AMD Radeon™ R7 260 Series (check, it is a Radeon 265)
2560 X 1440 @ 60Hz (check, this is what my monitor runs at)
There is no "Enable virtual super resolution" checkmark in "My Digital Flatplanels" -> "Properties (Digital Flat Panel)"
Ray, I appreciate the effort, but you are not helping anymore.
I meet all the criteria for VSR (Radeon 265 with 2560 X 1440 @ 60Hz monitor for VSR 3200 X 1800)
I do not have the VSR option in CCC
This is why I have made this post.
Showing a "our stuff my not work" image is aggravating and not helpful, especially since your information I believed proved to be flat out wrong according to the charts.
Thanks,
Sorry for the confusion.
This model does support VSR, but i think its limited without mention. according to the chart, the card should support 3200x1800. http://www.amd.com/en-us/innovations/software-technologies/technologies-gaming/vsr
its worth considering that going above 2560x1440 was something we thought only 380 390 and Fury could do, which may turn to be true.
If you change resolution back to 1920x1080p at 60hz, does the VSR option re-appear?
Hi, thanks for the suggestion to try
I dropped the resolution down to 1920x1080 and restarted the system, no VSR option in CCC
Just to try
I dropped the resolution down to 1366x768 and restarted the system, still no VSR option in CCC
Thanks
You need to connect to a 19x10 device to see the VSR option - not the same as dropping the resolution to 19x10.
That makes little sense
One chart entry clearly says "Target Display Timing: 2560 X 1440 @ 60Hz , Supported VSR Modes 3200 X 1800"
You're not helping.
It might not be what you are looking for, but I have checked and I am giving you the correct answer.
Your graphics card might support an 8K resolution, it doesn't mean you will be able to get that resolution in VSR.
Maximum resolution supported and VSR are two completely different things.
Which is why the document I referred you to clearly says "Again, “Supported VSR Modes” may vary from what is indicated the chart depending on the Graphics Product you are using".
Seriously, I can accept that the product will not support the listed features until a future update...
What I cannot accept is crappy answers from AMD support culminating in a cop out "if it doesn't work, it doesn't work" answer, silence on the issue or the craptacular amount of hoops I jumped through to find out it doesn't work.
My last question was real simple.
Will my XFX R7 265A-CNJ4 support the advertised "Target Display Timing: 2560 X 1440 @ 60Hz , Supported VSR Modes 3200 X 1800"
Yes, in the future (needs driver work)
No, there are no plans to support the advertised feature on this model.
What is the monitor ? How is it connected to the card ?
What is the native resolution of the monitor ?
What resolution are you currently running at ?
