What sizes of data payload are supported in PCIe TLP when using DirectGMA?

Hello there,

In the transport layer packet of PCIe, there is a sub-part dedicated to data, which we call here payload (the schema of TLP we have may be found on the first page of that paper : http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/stamp/stamp.jsp?tp=&arnumber=7111377 ). Its size could vary however there is a standard size of 128 bytes, supported by all hardware normally.

I would so like to know if the GPU can handle different sizes of data in the PCIe TLP?

thanks in advance,

nicolas

Hi Nicolas,

Each design basically has its own limit for the maximum size of data payload, which is indicated by DeviceCapabilities.Max_Payload_Size_Supported field. I would recommend contacting us directly at firepro.developers@amd.com for more details.
