13.12 drivers not building for Ubuntu 13.10: /var/lib/dkms/fglrx/13.251/build/2.6.x/kcl_acpi.c:999:5: error: too few arguments to function ‘(acpi_status (*)(u32, void *, void *))handler’

When trying to build a package for Ubuntu 13.10 32 bit version of proprietary drivers downloaded from amd's site with following command :

$ sudo ./amd-catalyst-13.12-linux-x86.x86_64.run --buildpkg Ubuntu/saucy

it successfully creates the packages: fglrx_13.251-0ubuntu1_i386.deb  fglrx-amdcccle_13.251-0ubuntu1_i386.deb  fglrx-dev_13.251-0ubuntu1_i386.deb

Then when trying to install them I get the following log :

$ sudo dpkg -i fglrx_13.251-0ubuntu1_i386.deb fglrx-amdcccle_13.251-0ubuntu1_i386.deb fglrx-dev_13.251-0ubuntu1_i386.deb

Can this be fixed somehow  ? I use AMD R9 270X. WIth Linux 14.1 beta drivers it works ok.

IIRC catalyst 13.12 doesn't support ubuntu 13.10 so use 14.1 beta drivers until AMD release next stable version.

Although Ubuntu 13.10 is not officially supported as you have stated I have managed to run it correctly with replacing last 3 lines of /usr/src/fglrx-13.251/kcl_acpi.c  for:

#if LINUX_VERSION_CODE >= KERNEL_VERSION(3,9,1)
  ((acpi_tbl_table_handler)handler)(hdr);
#else
  ((acpi_table_handler)handler)(hdr);
#endif
  return KCL_ACPI_OK;
}

After that run :

$ sudo dkms install -m fglrx -v 13.251 -k 3.11.0-17-generic

As I am using 3.11.0-17 kernel.

In the end I have working 13.12 drivers on Ubuntu 13.10
