Can't get 1920x1080 on my TV

Hello everybody,

I have a notebook HP ProBook 6555b with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 Series

I also have 42lh3000 LG TV that supports 1080p

When I connect the TV via VGA cable (Notebook doesn't have HDMI port) max resolution I can get is 1366 x 768, but not 1920 x 1080

AMD vision engine control center identifies TV and the max resolution of it (1920 x 1080), but I still can't change resolution of my desktop to full hd

I'm displaying desktop only on TV.

Any suggestion why I can't get 1920 x 1080 resulotion and how to fix it ?

I have a feeling it is because of the VGA cable connection, sounds the obvious answer.

But when you use VGA cable to connect monitor to PC and monitor supports full hd you can get 1920 x 1080. So I think cable is not the problem

people say VGA has no limits...

Oh man! I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues.

This is the software developers forum. I think you'll get more responses faster posting this question on the general technology forums: http://forums.amd.com/forum/categories.cfm?catid=12&entercat=y

Also, try contacting AMD support either by email (http://emailcustomercare.amd.com/) or by phone (http://support.amd.com/us/contacts/Pages/global-technical-support.aspx)

Good luck!
