What is the signal out of S400 Synchronisation Module RJ-45 connectors?

Hi,

I'm trying to design a circuit that will be synchronised with a display. My work would be greatly simplified if I can get some sort of simple clock off the graphics card.

For that, I have tried using the S400, by setting the RJ-45 connectors as timing clients to a V7900 card. I have tried to measured the signal out of each solid coloured pin with an oscilloscope, but can't seem to find anything there at all. Is there some kind of handshaking required for the signal to go through? Is there any technical documentation that would let me know what signal should be coming through each pin?

Many thanks,

rodh

Hi,

we have no clock on the RJ45 but one lane contains the VSync signal. Would this work for you as well?

Hi, thanks for the answer,

Yes a VGA-style VSync is fine. I had another look at the signals coming through, this time checking each pin and not just the solid colour ones. I found a +3.3V VGA style pulse on what I believe to be pin 3. Which is great. Thank you very much.

Hi,

you are correct the VSync is on  pin 3.
