Problem with Catalyst 11.6

Hi

I installed new Display Driver from Catalyst 11.6. After that, KernelAnalyzer still worked well.

But then I installed "AMD APP SDK Runtime 2.4.650.9" from Catalyst 11.6 installer, KernelAnalyzer does not display both 'Compiler Statistics' and 'Object Code'. ('Compiler Output' displays 'OpenCL Compile Error: Can't find the IL for Barts.'.)

Strangely, once this problem occurs, uninstalling and re-install old APP SDK Runtime have noeffect.

Has anyone had the same problem?

My environment: (problem occured in both)

  1. Win7 Ultimate(x64, Japanese), AMD APP SDK 2.4, RADEON HD 6870
  2. Win7 Ultimate(x64, Japanese), AMD APP SDK 2.4, RADEON HD 5450

Hi katayama,

i have the same problem with the 11.6 display driver.

I think we have to go back to a old driver, but i am not sure.

I hope the problem is fixed fast.

hi katayama,

This is a known issue and will be fixed soon. Thanks for sharing it.

I hope so 😉

We will see how long it takes. But not so cool for me. So i have to debug my Kernel per hand -.-

Please input -fbin-amdil into the compiler option box in APP KernelAnalyzer.

It works fine. Thank you!

And... is there any webpage that we can check known issues and workarounds?

That doesn´t work with the Cat 11.7 preview installed. Is there any further workaround or a new version?

Doesn´t even work with Cat 11.6a with only SDK 2.4 OpenCL components installed ... damn :(.

I tried 11.6, 11.5b and 11.5 and none of them work!

I get:

OpenCL Compile Error: clBuildProgram failed (CL_INVALID_BUILD_OPTIONS).

Invalid option: -fbin

or:

OpenCL Compile Error: Can't find the IL for $GPU-codename$.

I need a working KernelAnalyzer :-/!

Yep, for me too. That's pity.
