Zacate APU: Data transfer rate CPU <-> GPU

For the new Brazos (Zacate/Ontario) APUs, how is the GPU connected to the CPU?

I know that for Intels Sandy Bridge CPU and GPU share the same L3 cache.

Did AMD follow a similar approach?

I'd be really curious how fast the data transfer CPU <-> GPU is for Zacate.

Yes, this will be of interest. There is no L3 cache on Zacate and AFAIK the GPU caches are separate. Only the memory controller is shared. There has been a reference to high speed memory copy engine for Fusion APUs in some whitepapers but I am not sure if it is only for Llano (the higher end future offering) or if Zacate also offers something similar and what the speeds of this copy engine are.

OK. Summarized:

- CPU and GPU have to share one memory controller.

- GPU RAM is only DDR3.

-> This translates to one word for me: SLOW
