I PROPOSING AMD TO UTILIZE RESOURCE ARITHMETIC COMPRESSION FOR REDUCING ANY MEMORY THROUGHPUT
AMD/NVIDIA GPU texture supporting several packed textures formats (such as DXT, 3Dc, BCx etc) for a while. Such approach helps to reduce the memory throughput (AMD the most critical section in the GPU architecture) and typically helps to increase performance of 3D rendering. Therefore it will be good to utilize hardware-implemented-in-texture-units arithmetic packing for CAL/OpenCL resources. Moreover to make this resources clearly visible to CPU it will be good to add this support to CPU built-in MMU.
