OpenCL finding 1/4th of the memory only?

Not able to utilize the card memory...

I have a HD5870 Eyefinity Edition card with 2GB ram but the CLInfo app (as well as other apps written in opencl not able to utilize the full memory) finds only 512mb memory...

Global memory size:                            536870912

By using CAL, I am able to access to 2GB,

localRAM 2048 uncachedRemoteRAM 1787 cachedRemoteRAM 508

Any ideas on why does this happen?

This is a limitation with the current SDK. This will change in future.
