Does the 5800 series support the same hardware predication that the 2900 through 4800 series support?

I'm going to assume that 5870 does not support hardware predication of any kind... or is that a wrong assumption?

and why it should not support? if this feature increase performace with if while and other control flow clausules i do doubt ati engineers would remowe it.

Hardware predication still exists in the 5XXX series, this can be seen by looking at the ISA. The keyword you are looking for is UPDATE_PRED.
