You can save 24 & 32 bit images as TGA. The only current way to convert from other uncompressed image formats (such as float images) to 24/32 bit is to use the Batch Compress mode. What format are the incoming images?

We'll plan on extending the same functionality already in the Batch Compress mode into the general ui in the next release. No plan yet on when that will be though.
