Radeon Pro Graphics

In 2018, AMD Remote Workstation1 was created to enable professionals to access their physical workstations from virtually anywhere with rich graphics acceleration.

Today, AMD and Citrix are building on this vision with the introduction of select AMD Radeon Pro GPU-accelerated encode integration into the latest release of Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops.

Encode acceleration translates into three areas of greater capability for AMD Remote Workstation users:

  • Better click-to-response time: AMD’s low-latency encode engine will crunch a 1080p desktop frame in milliseconds. This provides for even more responsive content creation workflows.
  • Enhanced system performance: With the task of encoding offloaded to the AMD Radeon Pro WX GPU, the CPU now has more cycles to tackle whatever you throw at it.
  • Smooth video playback: Dedicated encoding capability can help alleviate the resource-consuming task of maintaining a smooth and high framerate that is typically placed on the CPU during media viewing.

See what an encode-accelerated AMD Remote Workstation experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops can do for your productivity today.

You’re always on the go. Your phone tags along. So does your email. So do your web apps. So why leave your workstation behind?

We think there’s more to a creative experience than being glued to a cubicle. This challenged us to rethink what a workstation experience could be. An experience that’s the same as in the office: whether you’re at a customer site, traveling, or simply in the comfort of home.
