This is a preview of the upcoming Radeon™ Pro Software Crimson ReLive Edition driver for AMD’s new professional graphics cards based on the next-generation “Vega” GPU architecture: the Radeon™ Pro WX 9100 and Radeon™ Pro SSG graphics cards. It will also be compatible with the already-available Radeon™ Vega Frontier Edition cards.
Radeon™ Pro Software is committed to meeting the needs of both professional users and enterprise users, providing stability, performance, and feature Improvements to both. For enterprise users, there is the Radeon™ Pro Software Enterprise Driver released the 4th Thursday of each quarter, with the latest 17.Q3 version released just this past week on July 27th.
For workstation professionals looking for Radeon™ Pro Software that supports the latest Radeon™ Pro professional graphics products, there is the Radeon™ Pro Software Crimson ReLive Edition driver, and today we are previewing the upcoming Crimson ReLive Edition release for “Vega”-based Radeon™ Professional Graphics cards.
Improved Capturing and Recording of Professional Workflows
Radeon™ Pro ReLive is AMD’s powerful solution for high-resolution screen capture and recording professional workflows for collaboration, presentation, training, and support. With Radeon™ Pro Software Crimson ReLive Edition for “Vega”-based Radeon™ Professional Graphics, ReLive will be updated and refined with user feedback. Updates included higher maximum recording bitrate (up to 100 Mbps), camera transparency, refined notifications, and enhanced audio controls.
Radeon Pro Security with the AMD Secure Processor
“Vega”-based Radeon™ professional graphics cards take a holistic approach to security with a dedicated AMD Secure Processor built into the silicon that works with Radeon™ Pro Software to facilitate all-day security. As soon as you power on your computer, the onboard AMD Secure Processor performs boot and firmware validation. During use, the AMD Secure Processor works in tandem with Radeon™ Pro Software and Microsoft® Device Guard to help thwart malicious attacks. During shutdown, the AMD Secure Processor continues securing graphics bound IP until device termination.
Work. Swap. Play. With Radeon Pro Software
Radeon™ Pro Software will be optimized for both game development workflows and gaming with the new optional “Driver Options” feature1 found in the upcoming Radeon™ Pro Software Crimson ReLive Edition for “Vega”-based Radeon™ Professional Graphics.
This feature builds on the “Gaming Mode” introduced in the Radeon™ Pro Software Crimson ReLive Edition 17.6 driver for the Radeon™ Vega Frontier Edition card, and the chart below shows the differences between “Gaming Mode” and the “Driver Options” feature.
When creating game assets and working with game development tools, game developers will be able to take advantage of the rock-solid reliability of Radeon™ Pro Software. Then when it comes time to playtest and optimize the experience, a “Driver Options” button in Radeon™ Pro Settings will allow seamless switching to one of two installed Radeon™ Software drivers2. To go back to Radeon™ Pro Software will be as simple as a couple of clicks, allowing for rapid switching between professional and gaming software for faster iteration during game development workflows.
As a bonus, professionals who are using “Vega”-based Radeon™ Professional Graphics will also be able to take advantage of this feature to unwind with their favorite game on the same system they were working on. With the Radeon™ Pro Software “Driver Options” enabling the use of the latest WHQL Radeon™ Software driver and the gaming features of Radeon™ Software3, “Vega”-based Radeon™ professional graphics cards will also be able to offer an incredible Radeon™ gaming experience.
