Hi, Prorender gives opencl error with Nvidia Card. (GTX 1070). Didn't check with AMD cards. With CPU everything renders just fine. Here is an error: 2018-12-08 23:55:40,927 INFO rpr.default : RenderLayers create... 2018-12-08 23:55:41,022 INFO rpr.image_cache : images: 0, total size: 0.0Mb, requests:0,…(Show moreShow less)
I ran Blender in debug mode to use cuda device in opencl mode and render same scene in cycles perfectly. So it is not nvidia drivers problem. Forgot to mention my sytem. Ryzen 2700, 32 RAM. Fedora 29, Blender 2.79b not experimental build.
I installed the latest Mac version of RPR (see details above) this morning and when I hit Shift+Z to get a render preview, I get an ERROR massage saying that I should check the log. I've attached the log error. Weirdly, I get a perfectly good, fast render when I hit F12. My setup: Late 2016 MBP running macOS Mojave 10.4.2 Beta (18C52a)…(Show moreShow less)

Other than improved stability, the one big thing that stops me from using RPR in production, is the limited texture node feature set. I know Rome wasn't built in a day, and I know the developers probably have bigger issues to deal with at the moment; but guys, if you have time, things like more Math functions (<, >, Exp etc.), more Noise (Voronoi…(Show moreShow less)
I totally second this. One of the strong sides of Cycles is its extensive arsenal of nodes, including procedural textures and a number of ways to combine them, but also input node types that allow for creating special effects, such as reading the ray length to influence light falloff. And using vertex colors for diffuse coloring and masks.
Hi all, first of all thanks guys for a new update so fast, and thanks for the good job you're doing with RPR. Below some question and request: 1) When we change render mode from Gi to AO for example, the preview window isn't automatically updated, it need to go out from render and then shift-z again. This is quite annoying. 2) When we set…(Show moreShow less)
OptiX is coming in Blender Cycles. I have HD7870 2GB. This is a request to make drivers which will support OptiX for Blender Cycles because after Blender 2.76, Blender developers dropped support for 7870 due to driver incompatibilities. NVIDIA® OptiX™ Ray Tracing Engine | NVIDIA Developer
Hi, I have bought the eGFX Breakaway Puck Radeon RX 570 to use with my MacBook Air and I have installed the RPR (Blender don't like the AMD cards... :// ) The results are not equal to Cycles ... perhaps is because I didn’t know the correct settings ... Cycles results are better... RPR results are "different". The final Cycles Render looks like…(Show moreShow less)
What Version of ProRender are you using? It seems to me, that you use a shadow catcher under the cube? This was an issue with an older version of RPR in my case as well. Updating to the latest version fixed this problem.
