One of the things I am most proud of at AMD is how much our employees do to give back to our communities, truly exemplifying the AMD Way.  And the fourth annual Global Volunteer Month was no exception. Even with fewer employees and reduced charitable budgets, AMDers continue to do amazing things to make our communities a better place to live and work.

This year’s activities included partnering with other high tech companies and Habitat for Humanity to build homes for low income families, picking up hundreds of pounds of trash from various beaches, shorelines, rivers, roadsides and parks around the world, packing and distributing over 40,000 pounds of food to feed the hungry, donating hundreds of pints of blood, walking, running and biking hundreds of miles for various causes, and visiting orphanages and the elderly in India and China.

In total, more than 500 AMDers in 15 global communities volunteered 1,505 hours during the month of October. Thank you for your hard work and commitment to strengthening your community—you are making a world of difference!
