SXSW Interactive 2011 will be here before we know it and AMD is excited to be going back again to participate, share and learn new ideas from the industry’s most creative leaders. Having hosted panels in previous years, we’re looking forward to partaking in this year’s discussions and hearing about the latest emerging technologies driving innovation. Voting for the 2011 panels is going on now through Friday, August 27th. Make your voice heard and go vote for the panels you want to see!  Follow these easy steps to vote:

  • Molding Minds Through Game Design: Kids today spend way too much time playing computer games and not learning anything, right? Wrong! Stealth learning abounds in game play, and kids’ capacity to learn escalates when they know how to design video games of their own.

  • Technology That Moves You: Next Generation User Interfaces: Facial recognition allows people to search for faces in photo libraries, online content, videos and more. This type of User Interface opens an entirely new dimension for searching through and interacting with the overwhelming amount of online and locally stored information.

  • Road To The Holodeck: Creating Ultimate Videogame Immersion: Video games are immersing players in the game more than ever before, with incredibly life-like graphics, wrap-around monitors, 3D and gestural interfaces. This panel will discuss the future potential of these technologies, and others, as they are combined to approximate a wholly interactive computer-generated experience.

  • Marketing Technology to the Non-Techie: In this presentation attendees will hear examples, tips and tools on how to market their technology to a non-technical audience, a group for whom technical specs are unnecessary and often unwelcome information.

  • It's 2015: Would you recognize your PC?: Looking at the recent evolution in computing, this panel will seek to explore what is next for the computer. From new, more natural touch interfaces to life-like, HD video and audio communications, what forms will the computer take in 2015?

  • Graphics Acceleration: Not Just For Games Anymore: Did you know that accelerated graphics is becoming more and more commonplace in productivity software and web browsers? This technical discussion will explain what graphics acceleration is,  and the potential of GPU acceleration to result in a richer, more immersive computing experiences.
