Five countries in six days. After visiting the United Kingdom, France, The Netherlands, Germany, and Russia, the AMD FirePro™ professional graphics European tour is officially over. It’s been a whirlwind trip in which we showcased a great number of demos and new designs, featuring some of our latest hardware and application partners. Although it was a great opportunity to meet over some fine European hospitality and, while it’s sad to see it all end, we’ve accomplished a lot.
We demonstrated the power and scalability of AMD FirePro professional graphics, with demos featuring industry-leading workstations, cloud server systems, and notebooks. We also presented some of our newest design wins. Timed with the start of the tour, we announced the launch of a new lineup of AMD graphics-powered workstations from Dell. This very impressive roster offers creative professionals mobility with the power and reliability of high performance workstations.
European journalists were also updated on a new design win with HP to deliver a thin and light mobile workstation. The ISV-certified mobile workstation offers outstanding performance and 3D graphics that can easily manage the most demanding of workloads.
During the tour, we rode the wave of increasing interest in the AMD FirePro dual GPU design win with the Apple Mac Pro. Journalists on the tour were very excited about the news especially how the news driving OpenCL™ adoption among software application companies.
Along the way, we illustrated how our technology performs on the applications that professionals use. AMD FirePro graphics are rigorously tested to optimize application performance. Our products are certified for all of the top software applications that our customers rely on and our demos helped us showcase OpenCL acceleration for applications from Adobe, Autodesk, and Dassault Systèmes among several others.
We were also joined by our newest supporter for AMD FirePro – SAPPHIRE Technologies. During the tour, representatives from that company outlined how SAPPHIRE Technologies will open up new opportunities for the distribution of AMD FirePro GPUs and offer the product to even more potential customers.
The tour even took a slight detour that allowed us the opportunity to spend time at IBC (International Broadcasters Convention) 2013 in Amsterdam. We were able to show off even more demos of AMD FirePro professional graphics in conjunction with exhibiting companies such as AJA, Adobe, Autodesk and Blackmagic Design. During the trade show, we had the opportunity to demonstrate the unique combination of AMD FirePro and Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve 10 – all powered by the incredible Supermicro workstations for Open-CL accelerated color correction.
At AMD, we understand the heavy demands creative professionals face and we wanted to display how our technology enhances the applications they count on. The feedback from our customers has been incredible. It all comes down to our Innovation, Performance and Reliability which leads to increased productivity for our end users.
We were so excited to be able to share all of the great news above. Even though this trip is over, we’re can’t wait to get back on the road to share even more amazing new developments in the coming months.
