The AMD FirePro™ professional graphics team will be making a lot of noise this week: we’re at International Broadcasters Convention (IBC) 2013 in Amsterdam where we’re showcasing exceptional collaborations for 4k video production. I’m especially thrilled about our demonstration with Blackmagic Design – a solution leader for film, television and post production – that’s powered by server technology leader, Supermicro. Blackmagic Design enables AMD FirePro GPU-accelerated video design through open standards.

The latest version of DaVinci Resolve 10 from Blackmagic Design supports OpenCL™ (Open Computing Language) on both Windows and Mac platforms. When combined with AMD’s Graphics Core Next graphics architecture, OpenCL™ speeds up performance and helps eliminate barriers while enabling new features.

 

The combination of OpenCL™ and DaVinci Resolve 10 can leverage a wide range of AMD FirePro professional graphics features to deliver powerful real-time performance. The multi-GPU display support, enabled through Supermicro workstations, can run up to four high-end AMD FirePro graphics cards. Additionally, AMD FirePro™ W-series technology works seamlessly with Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve 10 to provide GPU-accelerated design solutions for creative professionals.

We’re also pleased to have Supermicro's high-end 7047GR-TRF SuperWorkstation enabled with four AMD FirePro W-series professional graphics as the high-performance production platform for this demonstration.
